Electron impact L- and M-shell ionization cross sections of atoms at relativistic energies

We propose an extension of the modified simplified-improved-binary-encounter dipole (MRIBED) model [Uddin et al., Phys Rev A 2005, 72, 032715], incorporating both the ionic and relativistic corrections, to investigate the L-and M-shell ionization of atomic targets with atomic numbers Z = 18-92 for L- and M-shell at incident energies up to 900 MeV. We also revisit our earlier model, GKLV [Haque et al. Eur. Phys. J. D 2007, 42, 203], for the L-and M-shell ionization at these relativistic energies. The results from our extended version of MRIBED and GKLV models agree well with the experimental findings.
